Our Organization
The top management of the International Implant Foundation consists out of three Executive Board members and a Scientific Board. For implant patients, a Patient Advisory Board has been formed.
President of the Board 2025 -
Prof. Dr. Stefan Ihde was born in 1962 in West Germany and studied Dentistry at Würzburg University from 1982 to 1987. After delivering his doctoral thesis in 1988 and working as dentist in the West German Army, he opened his first clinic in Uetliburg / Switzerland in 1994.
From the beginning he focussed only on fixed restaurations and never delivered a removable denture to any of his patients. From 1996 to 2006 he worked with lateral basal implants and already in an immediate functional loading protocol. Since 2006, he has developed the Technology of the Strategic Implant® which allows treatments for virtually all patients, without bone augmentation and again in an immediate functional loading protocol. Since 1994 he has placed more than 70.000 dental implants and equipped them with fixed prosthodontics.
He has written 7 textbooks and more than 150 scientific articles in the field of dental implantology and teaches in Europe, in Russian-speaking countries, in the Balkans, in India and in South and Middle America. Prof. Dr. Ihde teaches permanently in Belgrade / Serbia where he also conducts clinical courses. From 2006 to 2018, he additionally was Head of Dental Implants Faculty of the International Implant Foundation IF®.
Prof. Dr. Vitomir S. Konstantinovic was born in Belgrad, Serbia in 1961. In 1984, he passed the state exam at the faculty of dentistry of Belgrade University and the state exam for general medicine in 1992, likewise at Belgrade University. A Master of Science followed in 1993. In 1996, he qualified as a professor in the area of maxillofacial surgery. He has taught in numerous international institutions, among others at the Eastman Dental Institute for Oral Health Care Sciences in London, as well as at the Charite, University Hospital for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Berlin. Sine 2000, he is full professor and director in the maxillofacial surgery section of the University of Belgrade. Prof. Konstantinovic directs extensive research projects, that cover the whole area of implantology amongst others and in the evaluation of the efficiency of methods in maxillofacial surgery. He is further author of numerous scientific publications and lectures at leading national and international universities and institutions.
Dr. Vivek Gaur was born in Etah, India, in 1974. He graduated in dental surgery in 1999 and completed post graduate advanced course in dental implantology in 2003. He further pursued studies in the field of dental implantology in various centres and universities like Zeist (HOLLAND), Valladolid (SPAIN) , UCLA (USA) and at the International Implant Foundation IF® (GERMANY) . He runs a dental implant practice since 2003 and he works in immediate functional loading since 2009. Dr. Gaur is a personal assistant to Prof. Dr. Stefan Ihde.
Dr. Aleksandar Lazarov was born in Sofia, Bulgaria in 1973. He graduated from Sofia Medical University with specialty Stomatology in 1998. Since 2005 he has been dealing with basal implants placed under immediate loading protocols. In 2013 he established a new, specialized private practice focused exclusively on treatments with the Strategic Implant® under immediate implantation immediate loading protocols. In 2013 he has been granted "Master in Immediate loading" and in the next year he became a certified Teacher for the International Implant Foundation IF®.

Publications
The International Implant Foundation IF® has been publishing the scientific journal "CMF Implant Directions®" since 2006 and the additional journals “JUR Journal of Unwanted Results” and “EECI Experience-Based and Evidence-Oriented Corticobasal® Implantology” since 2024. The journals are published several times a year and offer articles in the languages of the authors as well as the standard languages English and Russian.
Scientific Advisory Committee
The scientific advisory committee of the International Implant Foundation IF® was established in 2006. The membership of the committee includes highly-qualified implantologists and medical practitioners from all over the world who are research active in the area of implantology.
The scientific advisory committee issues consensus documents which have international and binding validity.
Their expertise provides the knowledge base of the International Implant Foundation IF® as the place to go to for all questions about implants. In addition, experienced members of the scientific advisory committee hold teaching posts in the IF® Dental Implant Faculty, which is part of the Foundation, and focus on the advanced training of practicing dentists.
IF® Dental Implant Faculty
The IF® Dental Implant Faculty is an academy that is part of the Foundation. It counts leading experts - researchers as well as practitioners - in the area of implantology among its members. This committee is dedicated to updating and carrying through the curriculum for the training and advanced training of practising implantologists, always on the basis of the newest medical findings. The IF® Dental Implant Faculty also carries out the proceedings of the “Masterclass Immediate Loading”.
